SCC Greens Endorse Ofelia Bello
The Green Party of Santa Clara County has endorsed Ofelia Bello for East Palo Alto City Council.
The Green Party of Santa Clara County enthusiastically endorsed Ms. Ofelia Bello on September 26th. Ofelia is a registered Green and a grassroots candidate who is running on a platform of equity, justice and representation.
Born and raised in East Palo Alto, Ofelia has shown her deep rooted connection to her city through years of volunteering and advocating for affordable housing, renters’ rights, and equitable community development.
With a master’s degree in Urban Affairs and Public Policy, Ofelia has been civically engaged in local policies, she served 5 years on the East Palo Alto Planning Commission where as ViceChair, she was a strong voice in prioritizing residents’ needs. She has also spent 5 years mentoring youth from East Palo Alto to become civically engaged through advocacy and community organizing.
Currently, Ofelia leads a grassroots nonprofit organization focused on social, environmental and racial justice.
We believe that Ofelia’s strong community connections and her deep Green values, together will make her a strong representatives to bring more of the peoples’ voice to the East Palo Alto City Council, and we urge all East Palo Alto voters to support Ofelia in her run.
